Today's Adventure - Mountain Biking

What a lucky group of children, all have been challenging themselves with a couple of new and adventurous sports. This term we have tried Rock Climbing and today we spent time at a Mountain Biking track.

It was a very 'hot' but exciting biking/ walking adventure today. We had a group of excellent parents supporting us, and for many the first time on an actual mountain biking track. Well done to all.
I hope you all enjoyed the experience, I know that I did.
Bring on our next adventure together in a couple of weeks.

The Hillary Hub OPENS

With great excitement today, we opened the new Hillary Hub with a celebration. An official opening speech, ribbon ceremony, party poppers, balloons and an ice block to celebrate the opening of the two classrooms. All year we have been working as a collaborative hub, where both classes were often in one room. We are now thrilled to say the wall between the classrooms has now gone. The teaching will not change, our teaching pedagogy remains, our routines and individualised workshops remain too. We are really excited to share this video clip with you. Welcome all to the Hillary Hub.

Our Lit Quiz Experience

Lit Quiz

Hi All
Earlier this week, 8 girls including Claudia, Liliana, Ruthie, Niamh, Molly, Maddie, Jessica and Maggie participated, in a literature quiz.
The quiz was held at Cobham Intermediate.
There was a total of 73 teams. The quiz master was travelling the world to find the best literature team. If you got first or second in our heat you then went on to compete in Wellington for the New Zealand competition.

How did the Quiz work?
Well there were 10 rounds, the rounds had a theme about what it would be about, though we didn’t know the theme until we got to the quiz. The ten rounds were;  Music, Pigs, Rodents, Secrets, Non-Fiction, Saints, Super Powers , Portals , Transformations and Pirates.
In between each round while the judges marked, the quiz master would give out random questions to the audience and teams.

Although we didn’t get first we all had fun and learnt something new!
